IEEE has created a new 'tweakable' narrow block cipher algorithm specifically targeted at disk drives and named after its inventors M. Liskov, R. Rivest, and D. Wagner (LRW). The algorithm relies on two keys to fully protect the data in this environment, a standard AES key combined with a tweak key.
